Benjamin E. Ortega, Age 72. Longtime resident of Chicago, Garfield Ridge Community. Passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021. An accomplished businessman, Benjamin was the much respected owner of Paris Jewelers on Archer Avenue for over 25 years. He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity and generosity. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. He was the devoted husband of Maria del Carmen Torres. Loving and supportive father of Sandra (Abel)Guevara and Carina (Rick) Silva. Proud and much loved grandfather of Monica Guevara, Angel Guevara, Andres Guevara, Isabella Silva, Christian Silva , Jonathan Silva, Arturo Ortega and Bryce Ortega. Benjamin’s pride and joy was his family who he loved above all. One of thirteen children of Alfonso and Margarita Ortega, Benjamin will be missed by his many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Visitation is Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem) from 4 PM to 8 PM. Visitation on Monday at the funeral home is from 8:30 AM until time of Prayers at 9:30 AM. We will go in procession from the funeral home to Our Lady of Snows Church located at 4810 South Leamington Ave. Chicago, IL, for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Padre amoroso y solidario de Sandra (Abel) Guevara y Carina (Rick) Silva. Orgulloso y querido abuelo de Monica Guevara, Angel Guevara, Andres Guevara, Isabella Silva, Christian Silva ,Jonathan Silva, Arturo Ortega y Bryce Ortega. El orgullo y la alegría de Benjamin era su familia, a quien amaba por encima de todo. Benjamín, uno de los trece hijos de Alfonso y Margarita Ortega, será extrañado por sus muchos hermanos, hermanas, sobrinas y sobrinos. Iremos en procesión desde la funeraria hasta la iglesia Our Lady of Snows ubicada en 4810 South Leamington Ave. Chicago, IL, para una misa de entierro cristiano a las 10 am.
