Juana Lopez

Juana Lopez, a true mother and matriarch, has passed on where she will be able to Rest In Peace with her husband Juan Lopez, daughter Josephine Valentin and son Jose Luis "Googie" Lopez who all preceded her in death. Juana Lopez died on November 8th 2022 surrounded by the love of close family. Her spirit and memory will live on through her surviving children Margaret Hall (Kevin), Teresa Guerrero (Danny), Marcos Lopez and daughter-in-law Patricia Lopez. Juana is also survived by her siblings Diego Garcia (Irma), Ana Luz Soto (Bruno) and Ramona "Monin" Valentin (Edwin). She is a beloved granny to Yvette (Juan), Bernadette (Renee), Vanessa, Vivian, Juliann, Jesse, Matthew, Stephanie, Jennifer, David and Anthony. A dear great-granny to Raphael, Vanessa, Giovanni, Jermaine, Mireya, Julian, Ximena, Elijah, Amelie, and Jonny. Juana was also an admired aunt and madrina to many. The love Juana had for her family goes unmatched. Once you were welcomed into her home you were already looked at as family. Juana’s home was an extension of her, and her love. She took great pride in making sure everyone that she came into contact with was taken care of. She showed her love through cooking. Juana fed everyone that walked through her front door, no one ever left her home hungry. Her home holds the memories of joyous celebrations where laughter and food were plentiful. She was a confidant and a peacekeeper. Juana’s strong-will lives on in the future generations of matriarchs within our family. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Visitation is Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave.(55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation on Monday, at the funeral home from 8:30 AM until time of Prayers at 9:15 AM. We will go in procession from the funeral home to Queen of the Universe Church for a 10 AM Mass of Christian burial. Juana will be buried next to her beloved husband at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that donations be made to her son Marcos who has Down Syndrome. This will help with his care during this trying time as Juana was his primary caregiver.
