Mary Ellen Thorpe (nee Saunders), age 86, beloved wife of the late James H. Thorpe. Loving mother of James Retired CFD (Julie) Thorpe, and the late baby Patrick Thorpe, Sandra (Ralph) Adas, Sharon Collins, John (Susan) Thorpe. Devoted grandmother of Stefanie (Kevin CFD Fire/Paramedic) Brennan, Lauren Adas, Sara (Christopher CFD Firefighter/EMT) DeAngelis, Megan and Rachel Collins, CPL Justin/USMC and Madeline Thorpe. Cherished great-grandmother of Brynn and Charlotte Brennan and Dominic DeAngelis. Loving daughter of the late William T. and the late Anne R. Saunders. Sister of the late William L. and the late Raymond T. Saunders. Adoring sister and best friend of Ann M. (Ree) Grebner of Peru, IL. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mary was involved with St. Symphorosa Parish, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Minister of Care, Liturgical Minister, and St. Symphorosa Prayer Partner for many years. Mary was the past president of St. Symphorosa Super Club and St. Rita High School Band Boosters. Retired office manager of B&B Catering. Passed away on December 15, 2021.
