November 6, 1944 - June 7, 2022
Raul Vergil was born on November 6,1944 in Moroleón, GTO, Mexico. He lived a good and honest life with integrity, loyalty, and most of all, an incomparable sense of humor. With a twinkle in his eyes, he brought much needed levity to every affair, including the most somber of moments. Known as the life and soul of every event, he was the first one on the dance floor. With boundless energy, he could outlast even the spryest of all the grandchildren. He and his wife, Maria del Carmen, built a successful small business for over 42 years, Rocio's Children's Wear located at 26th and Trumbull and 70th and Pulaski, which they continued to operate until his passing on June 7, 2022, most of the time whilst working for Nabisco Corporation. Raul, however, was not defined by a job or a title, but rather by the way he conducted his life and the joy he brought to so many. He lived every day as a never-ending celebration and made each person feel as though they were his favorite. His network of friends and family span continents and oceans. An avid traveler, he was always looking for the next adventure. Unforgettable, Raúl will continue to be remembered by all of his loved ones through the immense anthology of memories he created in his most singular way. Raul is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Maria del Carmen and his children, Rocio, Myrna, Violeta Flemenbaum (Arieh), and Raul. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Karina, Gabriel, Sofia, Natalie, Violet, Daniela, Isabella, Mateo, Maya, Logan, and his siblings, Yolanda (Rogelio), Maria Elena, Rafael (Beatriz), Esperanza (Marcelino), Margarita (Octavio) as well as many loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Maria de Jesus, and his brothers, Ramon and Ruben. In the words of his favorite song, Raul did it his way.
