Alfredo Garcia Jr. passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Shirlee,nee Grachen Garcia. Loving and devoted father of Lillie (Noah Graham) Garcia and Phillip (Eva) Garcia. Proud grandfather of Ashlee Garcia-Graham, Aaliyah Garcia-Graham, Angel Garcia-Graham, Phillip Garcia Jr., Isabella Garcia and Alexia Garcia. Dear Brother of Gonzalo (Felisa) Garcia, Antonio (Maria Elena) Garcia, Maria Carmen (Reuben) De La Torre, Felisa Guzman, Jose (Judy) Garcia, Pedro (Sue) Garcia and the late Bernardo Garcia and late the Auberto Garcia. Beloved Brother-in-law of George & Vivian Grachen, Frank Grachen and the late Sharon (Grachen) & Larry Suarez and the late Marilyn (Grachen) & George Tasefsky. Alfredo will be remembered dearly by his many nieces and nephews. Alfredo was the proud owner of Garcia’s Men's Wear on 26th street in Chicago. It was one of the first Spanish owned businesses in Little Village. Alfredo was the true example of the American Dream. He believed in himself and his dream, took the risk, began his own business, was fair and honest and became a success. An accomplished businessman, steadfast friend, devoted husband, loving and supportive father and grandfather, He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Visitation is Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 4 PM to 8PM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 West Archer Avenue (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation on Monday at the funeral home is private for immediate family only. Extended family and friends are invited to meet on Monday morning at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church for a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. The Church requires everyone who will be attending mass to please sign in at church when you arrive. We will go in procession after mass from the Church to take Alfredo to his final resting place at St.Mary Cemetery . Due to the restrictions imposed by the state of Illinois regarding Covid, only 10 people are permitted in the funeral home at one time, so please offer your condolences and only stay for a short time so that others may visit. Everyone is required to properly wear a mask and practice social distancing. No food or beverages is allowed in the funeral home. Thank you for your consideration in keeping everyone safe.
